POLITICS

Silver Certificate Act of 1967 limits the convertibility of silver certificates into silver to one more year.  Indirectly removes silver certificates from circulation.
Three US Astronauts are killed during a simulated launch.
A conflict, identified as the "Six Day War" breaks out between the Arab nations and Israel.  Israel launched a pre-emptive strike against Egypt.  Jordan, which had entered into a mutual agreement with Egypt, then attacked.  In settlement, Israel gained control of the Sinai Peninsula, the Gaza Strip, the West Bank, East Jerusalem and Golan Heights.
