Memories by the Campfire - Poetry©

Set II

Life, through memories, abounds in corners of our mind
We cast aside the unfullfilled and leave the past behind
We love, we wish, we hope, we dream, as others do in kind,
For happiness and solace in a grace we sought to find

Close your eyes and tell me what you see within your heart.

The summer breeze has drifted into yesterday.

Oh lonely people of the earth, there is music in the air.
Listen to the love within you. I hear it calling out your name.

Wiggles with giggles and puppy dog tails
Cannot compare with the tales of the wise
But one must acknowledge that love never fails
when that love looks in innocence from puppy dog eyes
