Revised 3 Feb 2014
PLEASE NOTE: DUE TO THE EXTENSIVE AMOUNT OF TIME REQUIRED TO PUT THESE LISTS TOGETHER FROM CENSUS REPORTS AND THE HIGH COST OF PULLING RECORDS TO DOCUMENT ITEMS, IT HAS BECOME NECESSARY FOR ME TO IMPOSE A FEE FOR PROVIDING ADDITIONAL INFORMATION TO OTHER RESEARCHERS. THE BASE FEE FOR NAME LOOK UP FROM MY DATABASE IS NOW $2.50 PER NAME. THE COST OF PHOTOCOPYING FROM THE WEBSITE OR DOCUMENTS FROM MY FILES IS 50 CENTS PER PAGE. IF IT IS NECESSARY TO DO ADDITIONAL OUTSIDE RESEARCH ON YOUR BEHALF, I HAVE NUMEROUS LIBRARIES IN LOS ANGELES TO ACCESS INFORMATION. THE FEE FOR OUTSIDE RESEARCH IS $25.00 PER HOUR. FEES FOR DOCUMENT COPYING, I.E. MILITARY FILES, BIRTH OR DEATH CERTIFICATES, ETC. ARE BASED UPON THE ACTUAL CHARGES OF THAT STATE. PLEASE BE AWARE: BIRTH, DEATH AND MARRIAGE CERTIFICATES MAY NOT EXIST IF THE STATE IN QUESTION DID NOT REQUIRE THEM PRIOR TO A CERTAIN TIME PERIOD. (i.e. Tennessee did not require birth certificates prior to 1916) Payment can be sent through PayPal or via U. S. Postal Money order. (Contact me via e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org if you need a mailing address. I will indicate what additional information is necessary to proceed.)
This is the links page to my family pages. These should all now be functional. If these links don't work, please let me know. If you click on the "Family" portion, it will take you to the ahnentafel except where special Ahnentafel links are notated. The mystery photos pages are some old photographs that I found in the family albums. We may know the main person, but do not know others in the photograph. In some cases, we have no clue who the person is or how they are related. Those names which are not highlighted are surnames that appear in my database in some form but do not have sufficient family members to warrant their own page at present. There are no X surnames. Click on the alphabet letter to get to the new listings
We are already aware that there are errors in the data at this time. What I am currently working on is pulling all people with the surname "Douglas" and its variant spellings out of the census to match them up with their family lines. I am currently working on the 1860 census. This project will take over 2 years to complete. If you have access to Ancestry.com and wish to work on this line, please send me your e-mail address and I will send you an invite to a version of this that you can work on directly through Ancestry. Information on people born after 1930 will not be released at this time. Where single dates are shown, they are a best estimate based upon census or known dates of others. When an exact date is identified, it will be changed.
This is a very labor intensive project. In addition to pulling the information out of the census, I am also following the Ancestry leaves to see what others have to say about these people. I started out in January with a 500 page error log. Over the months, I have managed to reduce it to 200 pages. Plus I have added in several new families. As you will see in looking at these reports, there are multiple entries for the same first name. If you ask for paid assistance, you will need to give me some identifying information so I know which one you are seeking.
NOTE: Some pages may take a while to load--lots of photos. I am beginning to change the individual lists over to a pdf format. Because of this you will need to use your back arrow to return to the index. You will also want to enlarge the view size.
THANKS FOR YOUR PATIENCE.

|2014 updated database list. You will need to go through it page by page. This shows all of the names currently in the Douglas Database. Click HERE to see the file. You will need a copy of Adobe Acrobat to access this file. It is a PDF. I know there are still errors. I am currently doing repairs and additions to this database and it will possibly take another two years to complete the process. Using the 1870 census reports, I am now using Ancestry.com to coordinate the research of others to connect children to parents, husbands to wives and children to parents.|
2012 update is a pdf file. You will need Adobe Acrobat to read these files. Use your back arrow to return to list. As of this report, all spellings of the surname have been reduced to one spelling format. They are all listed as Douglas. I did this to allow my computer program to identify duplicate entries for the simple reason that the surname spellings vary from census to census. You will need to change it back to the proper spelling in your own research. Use the find option in Adobe Acrobat to find your person on the pdf file. If you ask me to do a look up, you will be told that there is a fee. Payments can be made through Paypal. Thanks for understanding.
|This next link is a descendant report from William Douglas and Elizabeth Gordon from the 1400s. Please note that the information collected here is in PDF format and requires Acrobat to read. The report is almost 180 pages long. Before you e-mail me, note that we know there are errors and that there will be daily changes made in my database as these are being corrected. The date contained does not contain personal notes or photographs in the interest of saving space. The information contained herein is a combination of information from the census, from other researchers and best guess information on dates. DECENDANTS OF WILLIAM AND ELIZABETH|
