The name Foster in Ireland is of immigrant origin having been brought into the country by settlers who arrived from England, especially during the seventeenth century. It is in the Province of Ulster that the majority of descendants bearing this name can today be found.

He was the son of William Buell Blagg and Jane Thorp.

2. John McCamy Foster1, born 15 Nov 1796 in Botetourt County, VA; died Jan 1860 in ST. LOUIS CO., MO2. He married 3. Sally Thorpe 14 Jul 1825 in Campbell County, KY.

3. Sally Thorpe, born Abt. 1800 in Wheeling, Ohio County, Virginia; died Abt. 1855 in 1855.

Children of John Foster and Sally Thorpe are:
