 The name Campbell in Ireland originated with the Gallowglass who moved into Ulster and later with more traditional settlers who arrived in the seventeenth century. The County Tyrone native Gaelic MacCathmhaoil Sept also adopted Campbell as the anglicized version of their name after the Plantations.
At present, the Campbell Line comes from Leah Campbell, who married Samuel Porter Douglas back in 1839.  Eventually, this lineage will trace back to the Campbells of Scotland.  For this reason, I will give both lines so far as we have them.  We do not know the Parents of Leah, but we do know that she had a brother named William and that she was born in Campbell County, Tennessee.  I am sorry to say that this line currently has me stumped.  The Campbell Lineage in Scotland, crosses into the line further back going down the Murray line and connects back to the year 986 AD in Dumbarton Scotland.  However, we do not have documentary proof of the Murray lineage at present.   I include the line below as a point of interest to work towards.  This will update soon as I have additional tie lines to add in.
