Rev. Dr. Paul W. Yinger, Retired Miister. Born 15 September 1914, Union City Michigan. Died 30 November 1992, Phoenix, Arizona. Rev. Yinger was on the staff of First Congregational Church prior to 1950. Rev. Dr. Yinger graduated from DePauw University, Indiana in 1936 and Unkion Theological Seminary, New York in 1939. He received an honorry Doctor of Divinity from DePauw in 1956. He was ordained at Cleveland Park Congregational Church, Washington DC 1939.

During WWII, Rev. Dr. Yinger was Chaplain to the 880th Airborne Engineers in New Guinea, subsequently becoming Sr. Chaplain at General MacArthur's headquarters in the Philippines and Japan, attaining the rank of Major. He served many parishes during his career, including the cities of Washington DC; Riverside, Ca; Upper Montclair, NJ; Piedmont, California; and Old Greenwich, CT. He continued to serve as an interim minister covering six assignments after retiring in 1976. He additionally was declared Minister Emeritus of Union Congregational Church in Upper Montclair, NJ. He was elected Trustee Emeritus of Pacific School of Religion and the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley, CA after completing more than 20 years service on their boards.
