First Church takes great pride in offering one of the finest pipe organs in the world. Due to the complexity of the inner workings of this beautiful instrument, our Organist in Residence plays all of our weddings. Should you wish music to be part of your ceremony, or special rehearsal time is required for your musical choices, an additional fee will be assessed.
Because we are a church and the Sanctuary and Chapel constitute Holy space in our religious traditions, we must ask that you restrict your musical choices to classical traditional music. Our organist-in-residence will be able to assist you in identifying suitable selections. Because of the acoustical issues of our sanctuary, we ask that all singers who will be used in your ceremony receive approval from the Music Director. If your singer cannot attend a live audition at least six weeks prior to the rehearsal date, a CD or tape of the singer may be submitted. However, a live audition is always preferred. While we apologize for any inconvenience this may present, but we cannot allow exceptions.
